Voices tab
After selecting a voice in the Dialog language tab, see chapters below to define a current voice.
Testing the voice

If you want, first select the language needed in the
Dialog
tabNo warning message appears, which means that at least one voice is available.
If a warning message appears, see the Dialog language section to resolve the problem.

Click on the
Voices
tab -
Select
Local voices
and look for the status of theSelect
,Define current
andTest
buttons- If buttons are not disabled, it means that there is at least one available voice in the
List of available voices
list. - If buttons are disabled, it means that there is no available voice for this type (the
By default
choice is not available because you can't click one of these buttons to select it).
- If buttons are not disabled, it means that there is at least one available voice in the

Repeat the step 15 for the
Remote voices
selection - Select an available voice in the list

Enter a phrase in the
Test sentence
field:- I've done the test with you and, as an example, I've installed the Bulgarian package.
- Now, i have to enter a Bulgarian sentence (well, i'm not Bulgarian), let me 2 minutes to translate a sentence with DeepL
- Okay, for you and your selected language, I guess it's easier (no need to translate), for me and the Bulgarian language, I have this:

Click the
Test
button -
If all goes well, the phrase is spoken by the A.V.A.T.A.R client in the selected language.
Warning
In some cases, even with the language pack installed, no voice may be available.
Try to solve the problem by reading the Possible errors and resolutions chapter.
Once you've checked that everything's in order, and if the problem persists, it's not a bug of the application but a problem with the system's language pack.

You can use sliders below to adjust the volume, speed and pitch of the voice (pitch only for
Remote voices
).
Select the voice
- Click on the
Define current
button to use the selected voice as the voice for dialogs. -
You can click on the “Select” button to add a voice to the
Selected voices
list to be used when you ask A.V.A.T.A.R to change voice. The application will loop over each voice in the list to change voice.Below is an example of voice configuration for the Bulgarian language (as you can see, a "Change voice" rule has been added to the
voice rule to change the voice

Selecting the
By default
voice is not recommended.This option is only available if only one language pack is installed in the system.
Otherwise, this selection may use a voice from a different language pack than the one you would like to use.
Saving the voice as current
To save the language, you must define at least:

A keyword to trigger the listening:
Open the Dialog tab and enter a keyword (for example
jarvis
) -
A sentence when the listening is triggered by the keyword:
Open the Rules tab and in the
When listening is triggered by the keyword
field, enter a phrase in your language (e.g.here i am
in English) -
A sentence during a askme (question/answer) when the client doesn't understand your answer:
Open the Rules tab and in the
When the client asks you to repeat an askme
field, enter a phrase in your language (e.g.start again, i did not understand
in English)
Note
Complete all other fields in the Rules
, Dialog
and Intercom
tab (optional).
- Click on the
save
button - Restart A.V.A.T.A.R client
- Now, in the chosen language, you can now say a rule and the client will reply
